French Orangina Buys Rosynka

French Orangina Buys Rosynka

27 June 2008

Orangina Group, a French non-alcoholic beverages producer, announced in a press conference in Madrid that it has completed the acquisition of a 100% stake in Ukrainian Rosynka for USD 60-65 mln. Orangina plans to continue developing the Rosynka and Sofia Kyiv trademarks. Orangina’s brands include Orangina, Schweppes, Pampryl, Gini, Canada Dry, Champony and Dark Side Cola. Initially Advent International, a US-based equity firm, planned to acquire Rosynka in February, followed by Polish Maspex Wadowice Group, which received permission from the Ukrainian Antimonopoly Committee for the acquisition as recently as last month – but those deals failed to materialize.
