Furshet increases retail turnover in 2008 by 42% yoy

Ukrainian supermarket chain Furshet raised its level of retail turnover by 42% yoy to UAH 6.0 bln in 2008, according to Interfax. At the same time, Igor Balenko, head of the company’s supervisory board, said yesterday the retailer planned to increase retail turnover in 2009 to UAH 8 bln. Over 2008, Furshet opened 23 supermarkets, bringing its total at end-2008 to 111 in Ukraine and seven in Moldova.
