Government to guarantee USD 0.6 bln worth in debt for Euro 2012

On October 12, Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers decided to guarantee up to UAH 4.5 bln (USD 0.6 bln) worth of debt to be issued by the National Agency for Ukraine’s Preparation for Euro 2012, in line with amounts specified in the 2010 budget. Mykyta Mykhaylychenko: Proceeds will be used for infrastructure projects and other expenses related to Ukraine’s preparation for hosting the UEFA 2012 European Football Championship. Providing favorable international markets conditions, the debt could be issued in coming weeks. with a maturity of three to five years. The issuance is to be made through BNY, with a subscription agreement made with Morgan Stanley.
