Hryvnia revaluated to UAH/USD 4.85 by NBU

The National Bank of Ukraine strengthened the official hryvnia exchange rate to 4.85. The rate had been maintained at UAH/USD 5.05 unchanged since April 21, 2005. Polina Khomenko: We forecasted revaluation to UAH/USD 4.95. NBU Chairman Valeriy Lytvytskiy said that hryvnya will not have a new hard peg to the dollar as before. Later today the NBU’s governing and supervisory boards will hold a joint sitting; we await details from the meeting.
