IFC Awards USD 50 mln Loan To AES-Ukraine.

The director of AES-Ukraine Garry Levesley, announced that the company had obtained a USD 50 mln loan from the International Financial Corporation for investments in AES-affiliated energy distribution companies: AES-Kievoblenergo (KOEN: N/R) and AES-Rivneenergo (ROEN: N/R).  AES is going to invest about USD 100 mln in these two companies by 2011. Concorde Capital: KOEN and ROEN are among Ukraine’s best performing Oblenergos, however, electricity losses from their grids are about 1.5 times greater than the loses of their international peers. By investing in these companies, AES can bring the companies performance in line with western standards.
