IMF could speed up disbursal of fourth tranche

IMF could speed up disbursal of fourth tranche

30 July 2009

Acting Finance Minister Ihor Umanskiy said yesterday that the International Monetary Fund might agree to disburse the fourth tranche of the country’s USD 16.4 bln standby loan facility in September, not in November as previously agreed, UNIAN reported. The fourth tranche is planned to amount to USD 3.8 bln. Andrii Parkhomenko: Although the program revision could start in September, we do not expect that the funds will come earlier than late October-early November. As we have seen from previous revisions, Ukrainian authorities are quite slow to make good on measures prescribed by the IMF as requirements for receiving the next tranche of the loan.
