Iran wants to start serial production of AN-148

30 October 2008

An Antonov design bureau official, at the Iran Air Show 2008 on Kish Island yesterday, said that Iran wanted to launch serial production of the An-148 aircraft, with cooperation from Ukraine and Russia. Inna Perepelytsya: If Iran assembles the An-148, it would translate into additional orders for Motor Sich (MSICH), whose D-436-148 engines are the plane’s designed engine. Ukraine and Iran worked together in the past to produce An-140 planes in Iran in the 1990s, though no more than 10 aircraft were constructed.
