Kernel Group pays USD 100 mln for grain terminal in Illichivsk

In a press release yesterday, Kernel Group (KER PW: N/R) specified acquisition terms of the Illichivsk grain terminal (see our news as of July 1). According to the company, the volume of the deal was USD 100 mln in cash. The terminal came under Kernel’s full operational control as of June 30, 2008. Its grain storage capacity is 200 ths mt; grain discharging capacity is up to 256 railcars/day (i.e. 17 ths mt grain/day) and up to 120 trucks/day (i.e. 3 ths mt grain/day). The seaport’s expected FY2009 throughput is 3 mln mt, potential throughput is 4.5 mln tons per year. Illichivsk is the second largest Ukrainian seaport.
