Kryukiv Wagon boosts railcar output 5x y-o-y in 7M10

16 August 2010

Kryukiv Wagon (UX: KVBZ UK) raised its production of freight cars in 7M10 by fivefold y-o-y to 5,239 units, the company reported on Friday, according to Interfax. Kryukiv’s management previously stated they were targeting annual output of 6,000 railcars this year. Yegor Samusenko: The plant is working at full capacity, producing 910 railcars in July, which is 40% above the plant’s nominal capacity. Demand for railcars is at historical highs thanks to growing transportation volumes in Russia, which accounts for 90% of orders for Ukrainian railcars, and the resumption of long-delayed freight railcar replacement. We expect this year to be a record year for Kryukiv Wagon and other Ukrainian railcar manufacturers.
