Kyiv court rejects Grytsenko complaint on voter registers

Kyiv court rejects Grytsenko complaint on voter registers

6 February 2019

A Kyiv court rejected on Feb. 4 a complaint filed by
presidential candidate Anatoliy Grytsenko against the Central Election
Commission for allegedly limiting the public’s access to voter registers. “The
court believes that the Central Election Commission’s position conforms with
the requirements of the law,” said a lawyer for the Grytsenko campaign, adding
that they will appeal the decision. The Grytsenko campaign filed the complaint
based on its inability to review voter registers, which it said is possible
only on weekdays and on a single computer, without Internet access provided.

Zenon Zawada: The
Grytsenko campaign made valid points in complaining about its inability to
review voter registers, which is being widely alleged – both by candidates and
political experts – to be a key instrument of vote manipulation planned by the
Poroshenko campaign. We view this to be one of the numerous contributing
factors that can enable vote fraud and ultimately case doubt on the legitimacy
of the results.
