Kyivstar's revenue decreases 35% yoy in 2009

Telenor published Kyivstar GSM’s 2009 results this morning on its website: net revenues equaled NOK 9.0 mln, down 34.6% yoy; EBITDA was NOK 5.1 mln, down 37.0% yoy; operating profit was NOK 3.6 mln, down 40.6% yoy. Kyivstar’s subscriber base decreased 6.4% yoy and NOK-nominated ARPU by 33.3%. Kyivstar kept its position as the #1 mobile telecom operator in Ukraine with a subscriber base of 22.2 mln users. Yegor Samusenko: The declines in Kyivstar’s financial results were primarily due to hryvnya depreciation, which was 27% cheaper vs. NOK in 2009 than in 2008.
