Listed GenCos decrease power production 18.3% yoy in January

According to the National Energy Company of Ukraine (NC ECU), its power plants reduced production 15.5% yoy in January 2008. The four listed GenCos (Centrenergo (CEEN), Dniproenergo (DNEN), Donbassenergo (DOEN) and Zakhidenergo (ZAEN)) decreased aggregate production 18.3% yoy to 4.60 TWh. According to the NC ECU, internal power consumption dropped 13.8% yoy in January. Alexander Paraschiy:  The NC ECU’s January consumption data coincides with our estimates, while GenCos’ output was 1.1% lower than we expected. We stick to our forecasts for GenCos’ production for 2009: -1% yoy for DOEN, -3% yoy for ZAEN, -15% yoy for CEEN, -16% yoy for DNEN.
