Luhanskteplovoz refocuses on parts, assembly in January

7 February 2012

Luhanskteplovoz (LTPL UK) supplied four diesel locomotive sections to Russia in January 2012 (vs. six units a year ago), the company announced yesterday. The company said it beat its production target for January by 8%. Luhanskteplovoz also said it is assembling two DEL-02 diesel trains for Ukrzaliznytsya, which it had expected to complete in December 2011.

Roman Dmytrenko: The four sections sold in January represent only 2.6% of the company’s announced 2012 target of 152 units (up 49% yoy). We attribute the decrease in locomotive supplies to the company’s focus on the assembly of diesel trains and the production of components for electric locomotives to be assembled at fellow Novocherkassk Plant in Russia for Ukrzaliznytsya.
