Lytvyn Invites Yushchenko, Yekhanurov To Discuss Compromise.

Rada Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn invited President Viktor Yushchenko and PM Yurii Yekhanurov to meet with parliament today in order to work out a compromise. Lytvyn said the reintatment of the government was possible if both sides could agree on some key issues. Concorde Capital: Yesterday’s statements are a complete turn around from the hard-line stance Lytvyn held a week ago when he was instrumental in sacking the government, however, he is not the only opposition politician to soften his stance since the government was fired. Former Prime Minster Yulia Tymoshenko, who last week teamed up with the Party of Regions to vote for the government’s dismissal, this week said that a coalition between her block and Regions was impossible, and expressed her hope of reuniting with former “People’s Power” coalition members Our Ukraine and the Socialist party. Meanwhile, Regions leader Viktor Yanukovich has moved to squash Yushchenko’s efforts to call a referendum on ’s political reform by suggesting that if any reform is called he would push to have the NATO and Russian language questions added to the document
