Metinvest commences exports via capesize bulkers

Metinvest has begun shipping iron ore to China via capesize vessels, the group reported on Friday. According to the press release, Metinvest developed logistics to facilitate the vessels and sent its first 195 ths mt haul, the capsize bulker Kassos Warrior, on its way to China. Metinvest reported that a second bulk-carrier, the Mykonos, was being stowed. Alexander Vilkul, honorary director of Metinvest’s iron ore division, said Ukraine has not sent any shipments via capesize bulkers before due to loading restrictions. Metinvest loads up the bulkers in two stages: one at births in Odesa region and secondly at deep water anchorage in Kerch. Andriy Gerus: In our view, Metinvest-controlled iron ore assets Pivnichny Iron Ore (SGOK) and Centralny Iron Ore (CGOK) will benefit the most.
