Metinvest doesn’t proceed with debt moratorium

1 July 2015

Ukraine’s largest steelmaker and iron ore miner Metinvest (METINV) won’t file a claim for court protection from demands of accelerated debt repayments, the company announced on June 30 after the holders of its 2015 USD 114 mln notes supported the company’s offer to shift 75% of remaining outstanding to Jan. 31, 2016, with 25% being repaid outright. The first hearings in a British court on the company’s claim had been scheduled for July 3 but may not be held at this stage.
