MHP to up poultry meat output 23% yoy in 2009

Mironivksiy Hliboproduct (MHPC LI) majority shareholder and head of the company’s administration Yuriy Kosyuk said yesterday that MHP plans to produce 23% more poultry meat in 2009, according to Interfax. Kosyuk said that MHP intends to increase its share in the local poultry market from 45-47% to 50% by yearend. Andriy Gostik: We estimate that in order to increase poultry production by 23% this year, in 2H09 MHP will have to raise production by nearly 38%. That said, previously the company reported that in 2Q09 it produced and sold 20% more poultry than for the same period last year thanks to the launch of Myronivka phase 2. In our view, MHP’s plans to produce around 270 ths mt of poultry in 2009 is realizable provided their phase 2 Myronivka line reaches full capacity in 2H09. The news confirms the company’s previously announced plans and we think it is already priced in.
