At their meeting today, PFTS Council members could approve a technical partner for planned modernization, Interfax said yesterday, citing an undisclosed source. According to Interfax, the most likely candidate is the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange (MICEX), whose trading system, if approved, would be introduced on the PFTS. MICEX’ press-office confirmed yesterday that it is in talks with the PFTS and applied for participation in its tender. Interfax also said that the MICEX could receive, in exchange for technical support, a stake in the PFTS when it is reorganized into a joint stock company, as planned.
