More Brawling And Another WTO Law Passed.

Despite continued brawls, the Parliament passed an important WTO law on import tariffs yesterday.  The law will reduce tariffs on a number of products, including meat. Economy Minister Serhiy Teriokhin said that Ukraine is now close to meeting its target of joining the WTO by the end of 2005. Concorde Capital:  A recent survey by the Institute of Economic Research and Policy Consulting, suggests that these tariff changes may cause domestic agribusiness to reduce output by up to 8%, however, the survey also shows that entering the WTO will increase Ukraine’s GDP by ~1.9% over the next few years.
