Motor Sich participates in Russian engine tender

26 September 2008

At an International Air Show in Gostomel (Kyiv region) yesterday, Motor Sich (MSICH: BUY) General Director Vyacheslav Boguslayev said the company is jointly participating with Ukraine’s Ivchenko Progress design bureau and Russian engine maker Salyut in a tender to supply engines to the new Russian MC-21 airplane. Russia’s Perm Engine Building Plant and the US’ Rolls-Royce also applied to participate in the tender. According to Boguslayev, the winners of the tender are expected to be disclosed in April 2009. Inna Perepelytsya: Motor Sich’s joint application with a Russian partner increases its chances of winning the tender. If Motor Sich is selected, we estimate the company would receive additional sales of USD 400-900 mln over the next ten years, depending on the details of the project.
