Motor Sich To Provide Motors For Ruslan Project

Motor Sich has signed an agreement with Russia’s Volga-Dniper for the delivery of D-18T engines for AN-124-100 Ruslan aircraft. The exact terms of the deal were not disclosed. Construction of the Ruslan aircraft, the world’s largest military transport airplane, is a joint deal between Russia’s Volga-Dniper Company and Ukraine’s Antonov Corporation. In 2003 the two countries decided to restart the Ruslan project. Olha Pankiv: The Ruslan requires four D-18T engines, the cost of which is about USD 2 mln each. Volga-Dniper estimates long-term demand for the aircraft at about 80.
