Naftogaz of Ukraine refutes missed interest payment on $200 mln loan

24 November 2008

Naftogaz of Ukraine denied on Friday that it had missed an interest payment on a USD 200 mln loan it took out in 2005. Media reports said that the company had not paid Standard Bank USD 50 mln for the credit, which it drew in 2005. The Naftogaz spokesperson said the claims amounted to a “media attack” and said the company was not behind on any loan payments.
