Naftogaz of Ukraine to attract USD 2 bln syndicated loan

Naftogaz of Ukraine is seeking a USD 2 bln syndicated loan, its press-office announced yesterday. According to the company, proceeds will be used to purchase natural gas to pump into underground gas storage facilities before the beginning of the heating season in October. In May, Naftogaz Deputy Chairman Volodymyr Trikolich said that Naftogaz plans to add to ~14 bln cm of natural gas its underground gas storage facilities by 4Q08 and that it planned to spend USD ~2 bln to do so.
