Naftogaz Ukrainy Increased Gas Extraction By 0.7% In 2006

11 January 2008

According to preliminary data, in 2006 Naftogaz increased gas production by 0.7%, while its crude oil production grew more materially, by 3.0%. Vladimir Nesterenko: This modest improvement in 2006 extraction rates, despite the country’s pressing need for cheap gas, indicates that it will be a challenging task for Naftogaz to boost domestic extraction. However, the Odessa field, where the drilling is expected to begin shortly this year could help the company make some headway.
