NBU says small, mid-size banks recapitalization need is UAH 2 bln

Ukraine’s small and mid-size banks require no more than UAH 2 bln in recapitalization according to the results of stress tests carried out by the government, Interfax reported, citing NBU representative Sergey Kruglik. This category of banks accounts for 15.5% of total assets in the banking system; there are 144 of them (out of 182 total banks) in Ukraine. The results of tests on the largest banks in Ukraine put their need at UAH 30.5 bln.
