NERC raises gas price cap for industrials by 42% to UAH 2020/ths cm

Yesterday the National Electricity Regulatory Commission increased the gas price cap for industrial users to UAH 2020.25 per ths cm (excluding VAT, transportation and supply costs). The new tariff is 1.4x higher than the rate effective until Jan. 1, 2009 of UAH 1425 per ths cm. The NERC also established a separate rate for metals & mining and chemical enterprises of UAH 1899.25 per ths cm. According to UNIAN, taking into account VAT and transportation costs, the effective rate for metallurgy and chemical companies will be UAH 2425.25 per ths cm. The NERC also said that the new prices for industrial users are based on the expected average annual import price of USD 228.8 per ths cm. Meanwhile, the gas price for municipal heating companies and the population will remain unchanged.
