New Industrial Policy Minister, Anotoli Golovko, said that he plans to continue his predecessor’s plans to create an energy machine building holding – Ukrenergomash. Olha Pankiv: It is not clear from Golovko’s statement whether he intends to include Turboatom (TATM) into the holding or not, but in either case the fact that he is the new Industiral Policy Minister is good news for TATM. Golovko is close to Russian businessman Konstantin Grigorish, who controls most of the company’s free float meaning the former is likely to look out for the company’s best interests. Originally Ukrenergomash was to include the Kharkiv Instrument Factory, the Khrakiv Electromechanical Plant, Elektrovazhmash and Turboatom, however, TATM’s management and Megabank (MEGA) (which controls 10% of the company) opposed the idea, as Ukrenergomash would tie TATM to loss making companies.
