NPR Increases Pipe Output, Slashes Wheel Production In Jan-May 2005.

7 July 2008

Nyzhnyodniprovsly Pipe Rolling (NITR: BUY) raised steel pipe production 22.4% yoy to 221.01K mt and reduced railroad wheel and rim production 17.7% yoy to 110.20K mt, in Jan-May 2005. Its steel output dropped 1% to 297.62K mt. Concorde Capital: The shift in the company’s production is a result of changing market conditions. Last year, NPR cut pipe production while significantly increasing wheel output. In 2005, the situation is changing due to a strong market for pipes. NPR has in-house steel making capacities that provide for a significant portion of the company’s steel needs. Using more in-house steel for pipe production leaves less steel for railroad wheels & rims.
