Oligarchs Declare Big Personal Incomes.

22 June 2008

Three Ukrainians have declared 2005 personal incomes of more than UAH 1 bln, more than 20 declared 2005 incomes of UAH 500 mln, and about 100 declared more than UAH 100 mln, the State Tax Administration announced yesterday. The administration said it “supposed” there were more people who earned more than UAH 1 bln who had not yet filed declarations. No names were given. Concorde Capital: We think this is great news and shows that it is no longer a taboo to be officially rich, even though still very few of these people would admit publicly to having these levels of income. Not so long ago the tax authorities were hard pressed to find anyone who would admit to making more than a few million hryvnya.
