Oranta’s GPWs rise 61.3% yoy in 9M08, claims up 2.1x

Oranta Insurance (SORN: N/R) announced its 9M08 financial results earlier this week: the company collected USD 145.1 mln in gross premiums written (+67.9% yoy) and paid out USD 54.1 mln in claims (up more than twofold yoy). The company’s claims/GPW ratio increased from 29.9% in 9M07 to 37.3% in 9M08.
