Parliament Adopts Nine WTO Bills

17 November 2008

Parliament yesterday adopted nine of the 21 bills reportedly needed to join the WTO. They now go to the president who is expected to sign them into law as early as next week. Tom Warner: Yesterday’s votes were again very encouraging. One in particular, a law allowing foreign banks to open branch office in Ukraine should have a positive impact on the sector. The law allows banks with statutory capital of EUR 150 mln to open up shop in Ukraine. The next round of voting on WTO bills is expected in December.
