Parliament Starts Work on WTO

Parliament Starts Work on WTO

3 November 2008

Parliament yesterday gave preliminary approval to seven bills needed to join the World Trade Organization, passing them on first reading. Tom Warner: So far, so good, although this is only a very small first step. Parliament needs to pass some 21 bills, and of course it’s the final reading where bills meet the most resistance. Everything depends on whether Viktor Yanukovich and other Regions party power brokers keep up the pressure.
