Parliament votes no on VAT reimbursement for grain exporters

Parliament votes no on VAT reimbursement for grain exporters

7 November 2011

Parliament approved amendments to the tax code on Friday that did not include VAT reimbursement for grain exporters. On October 20, parliament amended the tax code to include renewal of VAT reimbursement for grain exporters, but those amendments were vetoed by the president. Yegor Samusenko: We note that the absence of VAT reimbursement for grain exporters has already been in place for the entire season this year and thus is accounted for in domestic selling prices, in our view. We have not observed an increase in domestic prices since October 20, following the adoption of the initial amendments by parliament. Thus we expect little change in domestic prices following the veto.
