In December 2005, the PFTS (the Ukrainian NASDAQ-like trading system) was accepted to the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE). PFTS officials say their next target is Bloomberg membership. On the domestic front however, the PFTS’s status is not as optimistic. Recently the PFTS announced plans to transform into a full-fledged stock exchange, however, it has not received permission from the Ukrainian Stock Exchange Commission (USEC). The PFTS has leveled corruption charges against the USEC and claims the commission is supporting the interests of other Ukrainian stock exchanges. Concorde Capital: In Jan-Dec 2005 the PFTS was the largest Ukrainian securities trading system. Total PFTS trading volume was around USD 2.4 bln which is 87% of the total volume officially traded on the Ukrainian market.
