Problem loans held by Ukrainian banks reach 6.2% in August

The National Bank of Ukraine reported on Friday that the volume of problem loans held by Ukrainian banks reached 6.2% in August. Since the beginning of the year, the volume of problem loans has expanded 2.6x. Mykyta Mykhaylychenko: We estimate the actual level of problem loans with Ukrainian banks is two to three times higher than the NBU reports although, in our view, the steep upward movement in this indicator accurately reflects reality.
