Rada Votes Against Prolonging Moratorium on Land Sales

16 January 2008

According to Ukrainian News, yesterday the Verkhovna Rada voted against a draft law that would have prolonged the moratorium on land sales until 2011. President Yushchenko said that he intends for the moratorium to be lifted by July 1, 2008. Anna Dudchenko: The moratorium on land sales is officially prolonged into 2008 until the relevant land legislation is adopted. We stick to our previous forecast of the moratorium being abolished in 2008-2009.
