Railway product prices inch up 2% m/m in October for Ukraine exports

Railway product prices inch up 2% m/m in October for Ukraine exports

5 January 2021

Ukraine export prices for railway products sold mostly
by Ukraine’s largest producer Interpipe (INTHOL) were USD 1,369/t in October,
up 2% m/m and 34% less yoy, according to our analysis of State Statistics data.

The October prices are 36% below their December peak
and 1% below their 3Q20 average level, according to Concorde Capital
calculations.

Dmytro Khoroshun: The railway
product prices as reported by Ukrstat might have stabilized for the next few
months.

However, we do not rule out that the prices might
eventually return to their 2018 level (before their 2019 spike), which was USD
1,220/t, about 10% below their October value. In 2016 and 2017, the prices were
USD 908/t and USD 1,089/t, 34% and 20% below their October value respectively.
