Railway Transportation Tariffs To Rise 50% On April 1

28 March 2008

The tariff hike may be reduced for the transportation of certain goods that may become uncompetitive due to higher shipment costs. These include coal and grain. Concorde Capital: The average increase of 50% is less than the tariff hike previously announced Ukrzaliznytsya, Ukraine’s national railway carrier. The original tariff increase would have been a 60% increase on average. Initially, metallurgical companies would have been exposed to the highest tariff increase of 100%. A new tariff for metallurgical companies has not been disclosed.
