Residential Electricity And Gas Prices To Go Up On May 1st.

14 April 2008

Yesterday the National Electricity Regulation Commission’s (NERC) decree for a 25% increase in residential prices for gas and electricity was approved by the Ministry of Justice. The new tariffs will take effect on May 1. Concorde Capital: Even with the new tariffs will only cover 50% of electricity costs, the rest is covered by industrial consumers. This increase in tariffs is only the first step towards bringing them in line with actual costs.  Tariff growth for households will be reflected in a decrease in tariffs for other consumers (at the same wholesale price) by 3%. The increase in gas tariffs will lower Naftogas’ losses.
