Retail sales in Ukraine advance 10% yoy in 10M19

21 November 2019

Ukraine retail sales advanced 10.2% yoy in real terms
in 10M19, speeding up from 9.8% yoy in 10M18, Ukraine’s State Statistics
Service reported on Nov. 20. In October, retail jumped 11.0% yoy, or 2.3% m/m
in real terms.

Regionally, the highest retail growth in 10M19
occurred in the Kyiv (19.3% yoy), Vinnytsia (19.2% yoy), and Ternopil (17.8%
yoy) regions. It was slowest in the Chernivtsi (-4.5% yoy), Chernihiv (0.9%
yoy), and Zakarpattia (1.5% yoy) regions.

Evgeniya Akhtyrko: Relatively low consumer inflation in
October
helped to maintain a
high pace of retail growth in real terms.  We expect real retail to
increase 8-9% yoy in 2019 (vs. 5.8% yoy in 2018).
