Retail sales in Ukraine advance 14% yoy in 2M20

Ukraine retail sales advanced 13.5% yoy in real terms
in 2M19, speeding up from 12.1% yoy in January, Ukraine’s State Statistics
Service reported on March. 20. In February, retail jumped 15.7% yoy, but
declined 0.7% m/m in real terms.

 

Regionally, the highest retail growth in 2M20 occurred
in Volyn (19.1% yoy), Zaporizhia (19.0% yoy), and the Kyiv (18.1% yoy) region.
It was slowest in the Zakarpattia (0.1% yoy), Chernivtsi (7.6% yoy), and
Ukraine-controlled Luhansnk (7.9% yoy) regions.

 

Evgeniya Akhtyrko: February’s consumer deflation prompted the accelerated growth of retail. Remarkably, the growth of
retail was observed in all the regions of Ukraine. We are observing the current
developments, both in the global and domestic economies, in order to formulate
our vision on Ukraine’s retail sales in 2020.
