Retail Sales Up 25% To USD 24.5 bln In 2006

According to the State Statistics Committee, retail sales jumped 25% to USD 24.5 bln in 2006. The cities of Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk accounted for the largest growth percentages. Alexander Viktorov: In 2006, retail sales continued to gain momentum, last year retail trade grew at 23%. Retail drives trade activity (growth for +15.6 in 11M)  one of the key factors behind GDP growth.
