Russian wagon maker shareholder seeks to buy 25% of Kryukiv Wagon

Russian wagon maker shareholder seeks to buy 25% of Kryukiv Wagon

12 July 2012

OW Capital Management might purchase a 25%+1 stake in Kryukiv Wagon (KVBZ UK), Interfax reported yesterday. OW Capital Management is 100% owned by Stanislav Gamzalov, the CEO and a shareholder of Russian Engels Wagon Building Plant.

Roman Dmytrenko: Kryukiv Wagon seems to have recently bought back 23.3% of its shares from TEKO-Dniprometiz and might potentially sell it to OW Capital Management, while the latter might buy the remaining 1.7% from the market thus creating buying pressure on KVBZ shares. A Russian shareholder is a virtue for a Ukrainian wagon maker, which might provide some protection from import limitations that Russia might increasingly often impose on Ukraine-made wagons in the future.
