Save In Hryvna,- Tymoshenko Says

Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko recommended recently that people save their money in hryvnas. She also said her Cabinet will begin liberalizing the exchange rate policy to reduce the dollar’s influence on the hryvna and strengthen the hryvna relative to the euro. The Economic Ministry forecasts the hryvna exchange rate will strengthen to 5.0-5.1 UAH/USD in 2005. The interbank hryvna has strengthened by 0.39% from 5.3056 UAH/USD since January. It rose by 0.48% from 5.3310 UAH/USD in 2004 and by 0.1% from 5.3365 UAH/USD in 2003.
