Security Council Recommends Pace Of Privatization Be Intensified

The National Security Council recommended that government and State Property Fund resume the privatization process, which has been suspended since January, 2005. According to the Council?s Secretary Petro Poroshenko the list of companies to be privatized this year is ready and will receive final approval at the Council?s next meeting in July. Concorde Capital: It is no surprise that the government decided to return to large-scale privatization: privatization proceeds from the last five-months totaled just USD 120 mln and the government has set a USD 1.3 bln target for privatization proceeds for the budget this year.
