SPF believes Odesa Portside could fetch UAH 5 bln

21 July 2010

State Property Fund Head Oleksandr Ryabchenko said Ukraine could privatize Odesa Portside Plant, the second largest domestic ammonia producer, for UAH 5 bln (USD 630 mln), according to local media reports. The SPF sold Odesa Portside in September 2009 to Nortima for UAH 5 bln (USD 594 mln), but the government overturned the results of the auction. Ryabchenko said the government has until August 15 to decide on whether to sell its stakes in Odesa Portside and Ukrtelecom (UX: UTLM UK), or privatization would likely be postponed until next year. The 2010 budget envisions earning UAH 6.35 bln in revenue from privatization this year.
