State Budget Deficit of 0.3% of GDP Emerges in 7M07.

According to the Economy Ministry’s official website, the state budget ended 7M07 with a deficit for the first time this year. The shortfall was USD 218 mln (0.3% of GDP). Over the period, income to the general fund of the state budget exceeded the planned amount by 4%. Oleksandr Klymchuk: As we expected, the state budget surplus registered in 1H07 is turning into a moderate deficit, moving closer to our yearend target of USD 2.4 bln (1.9% of GDP – 0.6 pp lower than the limit set in the state budget law).
