State thermal power plants output down 17% yoy in 4M09

According to the National Energy Company of Ukraine (NC ECU), the four state-controlled thermal generation companies (CEEN, DNEN, DOEN and ZAEN) decreased power production by 3.1 TWh, or by 16.8% yoy in 4M09. Combined heat and power plants reduced electricity production by 21%, while hydro power plants increased production by 17.9% yoy. According to the NC ECU, electricity consumption dropped by 9.2 TWh, or by 13.6% yoy during the period.
