Swedbank Ukraine to exit retail business

Swedbank Ukraine to exit retail business

21 September 2011

Swedbank Ukraine plans to close its retail segment and focus exclusively on services to large and medium-size businesses, it said yesterday in a statement. The bank said its plans were in line with its group strategy of universal banking in its home market, but focused strategies in niche markets. Swedbank Ukraine said it planned to complete the transition over a two-year period. The bank announced a similar decision to close its retail operations in Russia in September 2010.
