Sweden prepared to invest EUR 80 mln in Ukraine

According to sources within the Cabinet of Ministers, in a meeting with Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, Swedish Ambassador to Ukraine Stefan Gullgren said that the Swedish government approved a strategy to provide Ukraine EUR 20 mln annually for four years (EUR 80 mln total) to support the initiatives of foreign investors in the areas of energy efficiency and environmental protection. In related news, a representative of Swedish Biogazprom said it was prepared to spend a total of EUR 20 bln over two years in Ukraine on energy efficiency and garbage processing projects.
